The first round of finalists in the 5th annual Scottish Property Awards has been announced, following judging in 15 categories covering the depth and breadth of new commercial and public property in Scotland.

This year’s awards attracted entries from a record high number of companies, keeping the judging panel occupied in recent weeks as they deliberated the best new buildings, projects and team successes.

Chaired for the third consecutive year by Fiona Morton, the former managing partner and chairman of Ryden, five new judges joined the panel of 20 leading experts to review and debate almost 100 written entries.

Fiona Morton, chair of the Scottish Property Awards judging panel, commented;

“It is encouraging to see a substantial increase in the number of companies entering the Scottish Property Awards this year and also to see a significant increase in entries for public property developments. We have welcomed entries from locations across the country which reflects the excellent engagement and high regard in which the property industry holds these awards.

“Our thanks should be given to the judging panel who contributed their time and expertise so generously to the challenging job of assessing the entries and debating the selection of the finalists announced. We are all looking forward to celebrating the best in Scottish commercial and public property at the awards ceremony in March.”

Judging is ongoing in the three top awards. The Rising Star of the Year, sponsored by Bruce Stevenson Insurance Brokers, Property Company of the Year, sponsored by Royal Bank of Scotland, and Lifetime Achievement Award. The hotly contended Deal of the Year, sponsored by PMP, will be voted live on the night of the award ceremony.
The Scottish Property Awards dinner and celebration takes place on Thursday 1 March 2018 at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel.
